(KAIR)--Technology upgrades in Atchison County offices are nearing completion. Commissioners heard an update from Emergency Management Director Wes Lanter and County IT tech Kyle Banks during their meeting Tuesday afternoon, and Commission Chair Jeff Schuele says the news is good concerning the upgrading of the county phone system. The current system has been in place for over twenty five years, but should be updated by the middle of January.
Schuele adds that the upgrade to the county fiber network is also progressing at an acceptable pace. Offices are already able to complete tasks much faster than they could in the past and that there should be some cost and time savings coming into effect soon.
In other business, the commission appointed Adam Navinskey to the position of Center Township Treasurer to fill the spot vacated by the passing of Wyatt Furhman earlier this month.
