(KLZA) -- Falls City Councilman Jerry Oliver has received a response to his e-mail to the Nebraska Department of Roads requesting they consider reducing the speed limit on Highway 73 from the north city limits to 26th Street from 60 miles per hour to 45 miles per hour. For now, there will be no change.
Oliver said a letter is being drafted to be sent from the Mayor and Council requesting the speed limit be lowered in that area.
In other business Monday nigh the Council approved a request from Community Medical Center Administrator Ryan Larsen to approve an agreement between the City and CMC for Health Services under the Section 340-B Drug Program. Larsen said it would allow the hospital to receive a discount on certain outpatient medications. Larsen estimated the net savings to be about $30,000 which he says will allow the hospital more funds for other community services and benefits.
The Council also approved a re-plat in the Chelsea Addition and voted 7-1 with Council member Judy Murphy casting the nay vote on request for a special designated liquor license for the CMC Christmas Party at Prichard Auditorium on January 10th.
