(KAIR)--An Atchison man is accused of leading authorities on two separate chases during the past week.
Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson says that 26-year-old Phillip Roles was arrested Thursday evening on district court warrant for charges stemming from a December 6th chase involving the Kansas Highway Patrol that began in Atchison and ended on Pratt Road after Roles wrecked his car.
Wilson says Roles also face charges stemming from a chase Wednesday afternoon in Atchison. That chase started near K-7 and County Club Rd. and eventually led to downtown Atchison before it was ended after he crossed into Missouri.
Wilson says Roles was spotted Thursday afternoon on foot near the 1900 block of Harper Drive, where he led officers on a short foot chase before he was finally apprehended. However, he was not taken into custody at that time since he requested to go to the hospital. Roles was examined by hospital staff and was arrested by police when he was released from the hospital that evening.
Roles was transported to the Atchison County Jail where he faces an additional charge of obstructing the legal process stemming from the incident Thursday.
