(KAIR)--Two Topeka residents are probably wishing they chose a different spot to park their car in Atchison early Monday morning.
Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson says that police approached the vehicle, parked at the 1900 block of US73 just after 3:30 because they had been alerted that it had been reported stolen out of Topeka.
However, Wilson says through a subsequent investigation it was learned the vehicle actually haven't been stolen. But officers discovered that the passenger, 35-year old Hector Vasquez, had what appeared to be methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in his possession. The driver, 48-year old Shellie Barr was found to be driving on a suspended license.
Vasquez and Barr were both transported to the Atchison County Jail.
