(KAIR)--An Atchison man was injured early this ( Friday ) morning after wrecking his car while being pursued by authorities.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says 26-year-old Matthew Phillip Roles was westbound on Main Street in Atchison at a high rate of speed and was attempting to elude authorities. The Patrol says Roles was traveling too fast to go around a curve and lost control of his 1992 Lincoln Town Car on Pratt Road, just north of Main Street. The vehicle went into a ditch where it struck an embankment and rolled shortly before 12:30.
Roles was transported to the Atchison Hospital for treatment of injuries. Four passengers in the vehicle were not hurt, with one of those passengers running from the vehicle.
