(KMZA)--Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville has been designated as a Level IV Trauma Center by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
The designation acknowledges that the hospital has successfully met state standards of commitment, clinical and equipment resources and staff training for the assessment and treatment of trauma patients.
Level IV centers are rural hospitals whose primary role is to stabilize seriously injured patients and, if necessary, transfer them to larger trauma centers.
Community Memorial Healthcare Chief of Staff Dr. John Ryan said it was rewarding to see the physicians and staff work together to meet the stringent trauma requirements of the state of Kansas. He says the hospital believes the residents in the area deserve quality emergency care close to home when minutes matter most.
