(KAIR)--A large number of Kansans took to the road this past holiday weekend, and according to a release from the Kansas Highway Patrol, many of them drove safely.
During the weekend, the KHP worked two fatal accidents, resulting in two deaths. Neither of the fatal crashes involved alcohol.
Troopers also issued 1,343 speed citations, which is down slightly from the 1,568 issued during the same time last year. 20-DUI arrests were made, which is close to the 25-made last year.
Troopers also assisted 1,164 motorists on the state highways, compared to 1,307 last year.
