Highland College to Host Healthy Food Conference

(KNZA)--Highland Community College in partnership with the Community Foundation of Northeast Kansas will host a healthy food conference next week.

The conference will take place at the College’s Klinefelter Barn located at 1774 230th Road, east of Hiawatha, from 10 to 4 on Thursday, December 12th.

The conference will focus on local food production for fun and profit and will show participants how to market their products using local outlets.  The program is designed for local vegetable producers and hobby gardeners interested in marketing to local sources and farmers markets.

The registration fee for the conference, which includes lunch and materials, is $30; $40 after December 5. A registration form and additional information can be obtained at the Community Foundation of Northeast Kansas website at commfoundofneks@gmail.com. Fees may be paid the day of the conference.
