(KLZA) The Mound City School Board heard a report from Gwen Knowles, the Parents as Teachers Coordinator for the Mound City District and Wendy Tubbs on starting a Parent-Teacher Organization when the Board met last week. The Board is expected to take action on the proposal during their December meeting.
Principal Korey Miles was appointed as the English Language Learners Coordnator and the Homeless / Migrant Coordinator by the Board. Seniors Luke Sanders and Lily Grant presented information on the National Honor Society’s activities.
Also during the meeting Board members reviewed the At-Risk, Vocational Education, Gifted, and Homeless / Migrant programs.
The Mound City School Board has set the first Tuesday in April, 2014 for an election for Board members. Positions up for election next year will include the seats currently held by Brian Tubbs, Chad Derr and Jeff Holstine.
Board members held an executive session for preliminary teacher evaluations. The December Board meeting will be held at 1 p-m on December 18th following the annual Christmas Office Dinner.
