(KNZA)-- Riders on horseback will span out across the Hiawatha community on Sunday during the 17th annual Jingle Bell Ride to collect gifts for the Brown County Christmas Store.
Patty Merchant, one of the organizers of the event, says the festivities will begin at 12 noon on the south side of the Brown County Courthouse with many fun activities for the whole family—including the arrival of Santa, miniature horse carriage rides, along with arts and crafts for kids.
Merchant says rider registration begins at 11 Sunday morning on the south side of the courthouse square. At 1 o'clock, the riders will then travel down Oregon Street from 8th to 4th Streets before splitting into groups to collect new unwrapped toys for children from infant to 18 years of age.
Those wanting to donate a gift can bring it down to the courthouse square Sunday morning or you call ( 785) 741-0861 to have the riders stop by your house in the afternoon to pick it up.
