(KLZA) The Peru State College Student Senate today announced their selection of SaraBeth Donovan as grand marshal of the college’s 93rd Annual Homecoming Parade.
Donovan, a Lincoln native and 1985 Peru State graduate, is an attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. She also serves as chair of the Peru State College Foundation Board of Directors.
Donovan graduated with distinction from Peru State with a bachelor’s degree in education, majoring in mathematics and obtaining a coaching endorsement. She taught math and computer science at Omaha South High School, where she also coached girls volleyball and basketball, and at Samuel Gompers Secondary School in San Diego, Calif.
After earning a law degree from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln in 1992, Donovan was a trial attorney for the Voting Section of the Civil Rights Division in the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. and an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Nebraska in Omaha.
Donovan has served on the Peru State College Foundation’s Board of Directors since 2008 and has been chair of the board since 2010.
