More than 30 Apply for Hiawatha City Administrator
10/16/2013

(KNZA)--More than 30 candidates have applied for the position of Hiawatha city administrator.
Mayor Crosby Gernon said during a special city commission meeting  this week that around 36 applications were received by the October 7th deadline and include 8 to 9 strong candidates.
The League of Kansas of Municipalities, which is assisting the city in the search process, is to review the applications and recommend several to the commission for interviews.
The position came open after the commission voted July 29th to terminate the contract with Lynne Ladner who had served as city administrator for just over seven years.
Gernon is serving as acting administrator until the position is filled.
