(KLZA) -- The Humboldt – Table Rock – Steinauer School Board members got a better look at some of the ideas the committee exploring options for a new addition to the north side of the building in Humboldt have been discussing for several months when the Board met Monday.
The Architect working with the committee on the possible addition presented a computerized version of the ideas the committee members have been working on.
Originally proposed as a fitness center and weight room addition by the HTRS Booster Club, the Building Committee has been taking a look at other possibilities. Among the possibilities is a three story addition which could include a hallway and new entrance to the west, up to 10 classrooms as well as the fitness center and weight room.
Monday night Board members voted to continue looking at the possibilities for a new addition.
Board members also received updates on building improvements at the Table Rock and Humboldt sites, which include new lighting at Table Rock.
Board members voted to recognize the HTRS Education Association as the bargaining unit for the school districts teachers. Confirmed the districts intent to participate in distance learning as well as the Nebraska Association of School Boards programs to promote healthy children.
Jason Cover was hired as a special education teacher and an executive session was held to discuss a possible property purchase.
