The Kansas Cattlemen's Association will host its annual business meeting at the Magouirk Conference Center in Dodge City on Friday, November 8. The meeting will begin at 4:00 pm. KCA President Perry Owens will open the meeting, and once the agenda is established, will provide the President's Report. KCA Executive Director Brandy Carter will provide a recap of the year including updates on major issues affecting Kansas cattlemen to include country of origin labeling, the National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility, Animal Disease Traceability, state legislation, and the farm bill. The annual meeting will provide the opportunity for producer members to address policy, make policy recommendations, and provide directional input for the association. All policy recommendations that pass the membership at the annual meeting are then placed on the mail-in ballot for all current voting members to decide. Nominations for the Board will be accepted during the meeting as well. KCA staff and Board of Directors strive to respectfully work on the issues set forth by the membership as stipulated by the policies of the association. The staff and Board look forward to visiting with members at the annual meeting and continuing to address the issues that are important to the cattlemen of Kansas.
