Bond Reduction Granted in Jackson Co Theft Case
09/25/2013

(KNZA)--A former Jackson County employee accused of stealing $16,000 in county funds has been released on bond after a judge grants her request for a bond  modification.

County Attorney Shawna Miller says, despite her objections, a  judge during a hearing this past Friday reduced the bond for 40-year-old Janette Fund, of Delia, from $50,000 to a $10,000 own recognizance bond.   Miller says Fund’s husband was required to co-sign the bond and she is on house arrest, with exceptions.

Fund was arrested September 16th on a Jackson County District Court warrant for 90 felony counts of making false information and 90 counts of theft.  The warrant was issued following a nearly two-month investigation by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department.

Fund was employed as an administrative assistant with the Jackson County Noxious Weed, Landfill and Recycling Department from April 2011 until July of this year.

A preliminary hearing in the case is set for October 24th.
