(KAIR)--An Atchison man was severely injured after his car was struck by a trailer Saturday evening near Rushville, Missouri.
According to the Platte County Sheriff's Department, 62-year-old Gary Handke was northbound on Missouri Highway 45 when his car was struck by a trailer being pulled by a southbound vehicle driven by 31 year old Jeremiah Roper of Platte County. The Sheriff's Department says it happened when the trailer crossed momentarily into the northbound lane.
Handke lost control of his vehicle, left the road, and rolled over several times.
He was transported by Life Flight to Heartland Regional Medical Center in Saint Joseph to receive treatment for his injuries. His condition is unknown at this time.
