Oneida Theft Case Lands Man In Jail

(KMZA)--A 47-year-old man is behind bars following his arrest in connection with the theft of a vehicle and tools in Oneida. 

According to the Nemaha County Sheriff's Department, Brent Buettgenbach, who has no permanent address, was arrested Tuesday on a Nemaha County warrant for aggravated burglary, two counts of felony theft and criminal damage to property. 

It's alleged that Buettgenbach is responsibile for the late August theft of a 1975 Ford Ranchero and several tools from 8206 4th Street in Oneida.  Total value of the stolen items is estimated at $6,000. 

Buettgenbach remains held in the Nemaha County Jail on bond of $25,000. 

According to online court records, Buettgenbach is no stranger to law enforcement, having served time in a Kansas prison following his conviction for theft and drug charges originating in Brown County.
