(KAIR)--A quick trip downtown was all it took for an Atchison man to become the victim of theft.
According to Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson, 54-year-old Melvin Pittman left his home located at the 1100 block of Kansas Avenue with a 29 year old acquaintance around 4:00 Tuesday afternoon for a trip downtown.
When they returned just after 5:30, it was discovered that a basement door in the secured home had been damaged and forced entry had been made.
Pittman reports that prescription medication and a playstation game system with games was removed from the home. There was no loss estimate for the medications, but the estimated loss for the game system and games is $900.
Police are investigating.
