( KNZA )-- A Highland teenager convicted of sexually assaulting a child under the age of 14 will spend nearly a decade behind bars.
17-year-old Lewis Davis was sentenced Wednesday in Doniphan County District Court to 59 months on each of two counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child. The sentence was ordered to be served consecutively.
Davis pleaded no contest to the charges in July.
He had been certified as an adult in the case.
Davis was charged earlier this year following an investigation by the Highland Police Department.
