( KNZA )--An asphalt crack seal repair project has begun on a 27-mile stretch of U.S. 159 in Brown County from the south city limits of Horton to the Atchison/Jefferson County line.
Beginning Wednesday, traffic on U. S. 159 was reduced to one line for the project.
Traffic will be directed through the project work zone via a pilot car and flagger operation. Drivers should expect delays of up to 15 minutes maximum and are encouraged to use alternate routes, if possible.
The work will take place during daylight hours, Monday through Friday, with some occasional Saturday work.
The Kansas Department of Transportation says Albion, Illinois-based Huff Sealing Corporation is the primary contractor on the nearly $119,000 project which is to be completed in early November, weather permitting.
