(KAIR) -- In an effort to get citizens and government officials more prepared in the case of a natural disaster, a Resilient Community Workshop will take place later this month in Saint Joseph.
Hosted by the MO-KAN Regional Council, the workshop will be June 25 from nine until four at Spratt Hall on the campus of Missouri Western State University.
MO-KAN's Disaster Recovery Planner Xue Wood says the workshop is aimed to help those interested in and officials that need more detail on Geographic Information System mapping, land use planning and disaster recovery in preparation and the wake of a disaster.

Wood also believes this will be beneficial for those involved in land use planning negotiations in the region.
