(KLZA) April unemployment figures for extreme Southeast Nebraska counties were consistent with the statewide figures. All but one area county had a slight dip in unemployment with one county showing no change.
Richardson County had an unemployment rate in April of 4.7 percent, down two tenths of a point from March.
In Nemaha County the monthly rate for April dipped three tenths to 4.9 percent. The Johnson County rate was down a tenth to 4.2 percent. In Pawnee County the April unemployment rate was steady at 2.9 percent, which represents the best unemployment among the area counties.
In Otoe County the unemployment rate was April was down three tenths to 3.9 percent. Gage County had a 3.8 percent rate down from four percent in March.
Statewide the unemployment rate for Nebraska in April was 3.7 percent, down a tenth of a percent in March.
