(KTNC) - The Nebraska Farm Service Agency is reminding farmers that the final loan availability deadline for 2012 crop commodities is this Friday, May 31st.
The main crops the deadline applies to in Nebraska are corn, grain sorghum, soybeans, and sunflower seeds that were harvested in 2012.
According to State FSA Director Dan Steinkruger, the marketing assistance loans provide farmers with interim financing to meet cash flow needs without having to sell their commodities when market prices are low.
Contact your local USDA Service Center for more details about commodity loans. Program details can also be found on the Nebraska Farm Service Agency website, www.fsa.usda.gov/ne.
