Man Charged in Falls City High Speed Chase
05/24/2013

(KTNC) - A Richardson County man faces charges in a high-speed chase last month that reached speeds of up to 85-miles-per hour on residential streets in Falls City.  The incident occurred just before midnight on April 26th.

According to a probable cause affidavit, a Richardson County Deputy noticed a red Dodge truck speeding north on Harlan Street.

The affidavit says the deputy tried to stop the truck, which turned west on 16th Street and sped west, reaching speeds of 85-miles-per-hour in a 25-mile-per-hour zone.  Authorities say the truck ran an eastbound vehicle off the road at 16th and Abbott, and drove through several yards in the area of 16th and Appleoff Street before the deputy lost track of the vehicle.

The deputy located the truck parked at a residence in the 700-block of 14th Street.  After an investigation, deputies arrested 26-year-old Joel B. Frost.

He faces a laundry list of charges including flight to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving, criminal mischief, speeding, a stop sign violation, and failure to signal.

He is due to be arraigned in Richardson County Court on June 3rd.
