( KMZA )-Plans continue for a new building at the Nemaha County Fairgrounds in Seneca.
Fair Board member Greg Visser presented the Nemaha County Commission this week with a drawing for a new 120 by 90 foot cattle exhibit building to replace the current building located on the south side of the county’s recycling building.
The building is being considered to be built in time for the 2014 Nemaha County Fair.
The commission directed Visser to get cost estimates and come back to the commission.
Visser also updated the commission on issues they are working on for this year’s fair, which will be held July 26th-29th.
In other business, representatives of the Nemaha County Soil Conservation District met with the commission to present their 2014 budget request.
They are requesting $34,400, which is the same amount as in past years.
The commission will consider the request when planning the county’s 2014 budget.
Nemaha County Soil Conservation District Manager Judy Adams also introduced her replacement when she retires on July 1st. Dana Schmelzle of Seneca will fill the position.
