( KNZA )--A rural Holton man accused of sexual exploitation of a child now faces an additional child sex charge.
46-year-old James Michael Baxter has also been charged with aggravated indecent liberties with a child under 14 years of age.
Baxter made his first appearance in a Jackson County courtroom Monday. During his hearing, as a provision of $50,000 bond he was ordered to have no contact with a victim or child younger than 18 for the duration of the case.
A preliminary hearing was set for June 27th.
Baxter was arrested in late April after Jackson County sheriff’s deputies and officers with the Department of Homeland Security served a search warrant at a residence on 262nd Road in connection with an investigation into the distribution of child pornography. Officers seized computers from the scene.
