(KNZA)--A summertime program is set to start next month, in Holton, providing area children with both free lunches and activities.
That happens through a partnership between the Evangel United Methodist Church, in Holton, and Harvesters Community Food Network, with the Power Hour feeding program set to kick-off June 3rd.
Church Youth Minister Sarah Draper says the program, when it begins, will be open to all area youth, Monday through Friday, from June 3rd through August 14th.
Lunch will be served from 11:30 until noon each day, with games, crafts and activities to be held from 11:00 until 11:30, open to all area youth 18 years of age and under.
Draper says the meals are healthy and the staff well trained, with USDA guidelines followed.
The program, to be held at the church, located at 227 Pennsylvania Avenue, in Holton, is being offered as part of the Harvesters’ Kids Café feeding program, ensuring that local children receive healthy meals.
Junior and senior high students are encouraged to attend the Power Hour activities to assist the younger students.
Anyone with questions regarding the program should contact Draper at 785-364-3834.
