(KLZA) The Auburn City Council Monday night voted to amend a city code concerning the placement of the bill for garbage collection onto the utility bill. Mayor Scott Kudrna explains. ( play audio :44 seconds )
The change was recommended by the Board of Public Works garbage committee.
In other business the Auburn Council approved a number or requests for the Nemaha County, Nebraska Fair in July. Favorable comment was given to the requests form American Legion Post #23 for special designated liquor licenses during the Fair and to close Highway 75 during the Fair parades July 12th and 13th.
The Council also approved an application for Community Development Block Grant Funds in the amount of $9,965 for an owner-occupied home improvement project recommended by the Keep Auburn Beautiful Committee. Mayor Kudrna says anyone meeting the guidelines for the CDBG owner-occupied home improvement grants is encouraged to apply. ( play audio :12 seconds )
