Valley Falls Auxiliary Police Disbanded
05/02/2013

(MSC News)--The recently created Valley Falls Auxiliary Police Program does not exist for the time being.

That follows action of the Valley Falls City Council Wednesday night, following a full house in the City Council Chambers, as residents of the Jefferson County Community voiced what they say is misconduct on the part of the auxiliary police.

WIBW reports that residents referred to last Saturday night as “total mayhem,” with teenagers speeding on main street. The crux of the matter, as described by the residents, is that auxiliary police officer, and city councilman Todd Harrington, played a role in the situation.

He was, according to one eyewitness, driving at a high rate of speed, while activating emergency lights and sirens, but not performing any type of emergency response.

Following the vocal outcry, the Council voted to table the program, which they implemented in late April, for the time being.
