(KLZA)-Two arrests have been made, and a third is forthcoming, in connection with the February 18th burglary of a farm northeast of Falls City.
Owner Doug Kirkendall and his son, Kyle, came upon the burglary in progress around 2:00 in the afternoon, and the suspects fled. The Kirkendall’s chased the suspect vehicle back to Falls City where the vehicle turned onto Dundy Street, which is a dead end. The suspects then attempted to flee on foot.
The Kirkendall’s were able to detain one of the suspects until Falls City Police could arrive on the scene. The other two suspects fled on foot.
The Richardson County Sheriff’s Department arrived and continued the investigation. The detained suspect was taken to the Sheriff’s office and interviewed. The vehicle involved was impounded.
A second suspect was found later and was interviewed by the Falls City Police Department and Richardson County Sheriff’s Department.
Charges are pending against three suspects, which could include conspiracy, theft with intent, burglary, criminal mischief and criminal trespass.
The names of the suspects are being withheld until charges are filed.
The case is being reviewed by the Richardson County Attorney’s office.
