Nemaha Central Moves Forward with Land Transfer Request
(KMZA )-The Nemaha Central School District will move forward with making a formal request to Prairie Hills USD 113 for a transfer of property in the Bern area. Heidi Wolfgang reports
Nemaha Central Superintendent Darrel Kohlman told the USD 115 board of education Monday evening that a letter and affidavit was mailed out to 106 landowners in the previously agreed upon transfer request area. Property owners interested in having their land transferred from USD 113 to USD 115 were asked to return the notarized affidavit, and Kohlman said 72 were received back.
The letters were sent to property owners in an area from “ O” Road west to the current USD 115 boundary line and from 176th Road north to the state line.
The board voted to give Kohlman authority to move forward with making a formal land transfer request to USD 113.
In other business, the board approved the school calendar for next school year. The first day of school will be August 15th and the last day will be May 22nd.
And the Nemaha Central Board voted to raise the driver’s education class fee from $127 to $135. Kohlman said many schools are not furnishing the class and for those that do, the fee is much higher.
