(KNZA)--An investigation, launched following a string of Jackson County burglaries, lands three from Topeka in jail. 

Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse says the arrests came after a deputy noticed a suspicious vehicle in the Netwaka area during the early morning hours of Friday. 

Arrested are 35-year-old Sara Jean O'Brien, 47-year-old David Brooks and 25-year-old Ryan Brooks. 

They were apprehended after the deputy stopped their vehicle, shortly after midnight, based on what Morse calls “suspicious activity.” 

Authorities believe the suspects are connected to three recent burglaries where high value items were taken. That includes a February 11th case involving burglary, theft and criminal damage at the under construction Hornet's Nest Recreation Center in Netawaka. 

It was there that copper wire, valued at over 6-thousand-dollars, was taken, whilie 350-dollars worth of criminal damage was incurred. Investigators believe a torch was used to get inside. 

A second burglary and theft was reported on Valentines Day, near Havensville in rural Jackson County.  Two generators, a welder, a dirt bike and three air conditioners were stolen. Investigators at the scene discovered items believed to have been taken during the earlier Netawak burglary, and noticed that wire had been burnt. 

Also on Valentine's Day, the Sheriff's Office, several mile north of Delia, recovered a 1992 Ford pickup truck that had been stolen from a residence in Delia. 

Also taken at the time the truck went missing was a motorcycle and two generators, with the total amount of stolen property valued at over 7-thousand-dollars. 

Now, the three suspects are jailed in connection with those crimes, and face three counts of burglary, three counts of conspiracy to commit burglary, three counts of felony theft, 3 counts of conspiracy to commit felony theft, arson, and comspiracy to commit arson, criminal damage to property, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

David Brooks also faces a charge of  criminal use of a weapon. 

All three are held in the Jackson County Jail with bond pending.
