Governor to Participate in Statewide Food Drive Kick-Off
Governor Brownback will help launch the Neighbor to Neighbor statewide food drive Monday, February 18, at 3:30 p.m. at Harvesters – The Community Food Network, at 215 SE Quincy, Topeka, KS 66603.
The month-long food drive to reduce hunger in Kansas is jointly hosted by the Kansas Department of Agriculture, Dillon’s Food Stores, Harvesters – The Community Food Network, the Kansas Food Bank, the Second Harvest Community Food Bank and the Kansas agricultural community. The campaign will culminate on Kansas Agriculture Day, March 19. Governor Brownback will be joined by Kansas Secretary of Agriculture Dale Rodman, leaders from the food banks and Dillon’s, and representatives from the Kansas agricultural community at the kick-off event.
Kansans will be able to contribute to the campaign at Dillon’s Food Stores statewide or at other locations in communities across the state.
