(KAIR) -- The first of three Legislative Coffee events presented by the Atchison Area Chamber of Commerce is scheduled Saturday morning at nine at the Santa Fe Depot.
The series gives residents the opportunity to discuss legislative issues with their elected officials.
All legislators whose districts include all or part of Atchison County have been invited to attend the three meetings, which also include March 2nd and April 6th.
The list of invitees includes area state senators and representatives, in addition to those serving Kansas in the United States Senate and House of Representatives.
The legislative coffees are scheduled while the Kansas Legislature is in session, which gives legislators a chance to receive direct input from citizens while the issues are being debated in Topeka.
