( KMZA )--The Nemaha County Spelling Bee was held Saturday at the County Courthouse in Seneca
Taking 1st place was Alexis Edelman, a 6th grader from the FAST Homeschool group in Sabetha. She is the daughter of Maury and Wendy Edelman. Alexis took 1st place by correctly spelling “nuance.”
2nd place went to Helen Krehbiel, a 7th grader also representing the FAST Homeschool group in Sabetha. She is the daughter of Tim and Yvonne Krehbiel, of Bern.
And taking 3rd place was Samantha Shafer, a 7th grader at Sabetha Middle School. She is the daughter of Steve and Julie Shafer.
Sponsored by Alpha Kappa Chapter, of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, Coordinator Mary Jane Fleming says the winners now advance to the regional’s in Topeka on March 2nd.

Actually your information in incorrect. The third place winner was Samantha Shafer, 7th grade, representing Sabetha Middle School:daughter of Steve and Julie Shafer.
