( KNZA)- The filing deadline for those wanting to seek city and school board positions up for election in April is approaching.
Candidates have until noon, January 22nd to file.
Three positions are up for election on most area school boards. There are also open positions on area city commission’s and councils.
School board candidates must file at their county clerk’s office, and candidates for city office at their city clerk’s office.
The general election will be April 2nd. If a primary is necessary, based on the number of candidates who file for a particular office, it will be February 26th.
The voter registration deadline for the primary is February 5th, and for the general election, March 12th.
Voters need to reregister if they have changed their names or addresses since the last election.
