( KMZA )--Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville is taking precautionary measures for visitors due to a rise in flu cases in Marysville and Marshall County.
All visitors to the hospital must wash their hands before entering and when leaving a patient’s room and they must wear a mask.
CMH is also asking visitors who do not feel well to refrain from entering the hospital if they're experiencing flu-like symptoms, including a fever with sore throat, coughing, body aches or headache.
Dr. John Ryan, Chief of the Medical Staff, says the decision was made to protect those at greatest risk during the flu season.
Hospital officials say that the decision was made because rates of influenza-like illness have risen in the last few days.
As soon as the number of active cases subsides, the precautionary measures for visitors will be lifted.
