( KNZA )-Details have been released on a two-vehicle accident Monday in Hiawatha that sent two people to the hospital.
Police Chief John Defore says the accident was reported on West Oregon Street shortly after 12 noon.
Defore says an eastbound vehicle driven by 50-year-old Henry Worten Jr. of Kansas City, Missouri and westbound vehicle driven by 78-year-old Stella Coble of Rulo, Nebraska were both attempting to turn left and collided.
Coble and a passenger in her vehicle, 82-year-old Laverna Cowley of Salem, Nebraska, were transported to the Hiawatha Community Hospital for the treatment of minor injuries.
Worten was not hurt.
Defore says slick road conditions contributed to the accident.
