Sabetha Student to National Stage
( KNZA )--Sabetha High School sophomore Billy Hatfield will be showing off his trumpet talents Monday at the BCS national championship game in Florida.
Hatfield will represent Kansas and Sabetha as he performs with the All-Star Invitational Marching Band before a crowd of 80-thousand or more in Sunlite Stadium in Miami, Florida.
He was selected through an application and nomination process.
Hatfield will arrive in Florida Thursday for four days of rehearsal with his peers under the direction of Nortre Dame University music director Dr. Ken Dye.
During the band’s two game-day performances Monday---pre-game and half-time appearances—Hatfield will be wearing his Sabetha Bluejay band uniform.
The national championship game, which will be televised on ESPN, will pit the University of Alabama against the University of Nortre Dame.
