(KAIR) -- As of midnight, the Atchison County Sheriff’s Reserves are no more.
This comes as the members of the 501c3 organization recently elected to disband after just over 18 years of service.
Chandra Martin was one of those members and says one of their greatest accomplishments was saving taxpayers’ money.

She says one of the more rewarding services they offered was helping children at Christmas time.

Martin says the organization was driven by the generosity of the citizens of Atchison County and believes it has made her a better person.
