(KNZA)--Just in time for the payment of the post Christmas shopping bills, City of Horton employees will have a little more money to help pay off those debts.
That follows the action of the Horton City Commission Monday night, with their meeting focused, in part, on employee wage increases.
Prior to a vote, discussion revolved around an already budgeted 2 percent increase, and whether that should be implemented for all employees, or whether a merit raise for long term employees only, or a cost of living increase, should be considered instead.
Ultimately, the across the board 2 percent increase was decided on, and approved unanimously.
A December 30th date for the increase to take effect was chosen, as that is the start of the final pay period for 2012.
