A building belonging to a Hoyt Pallet Company is considered a total loss following a fire that broke out Saturday night.
The Jackson County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call around 8:00 Saturday night regarding the fire at 11621 P.4 Road west of the City of Hoyt.
That department rushed to the scene, along with the Hoyt Fire Department, the Mayetta Fire Department, the Potawatomi Tribal Fire Department, Soldier Township Fire Department and Jackson County EMS.
Also offering assistance at the scene was the Kansas Highway Patrol and the Hoyt Police Department.
Firefighters battled the blaze, and were able to contain it to a building used to disassemble and rebuild pallets.
It's owned by the Hoyt Pallet Recycling Company.
The Kansas State Fire Marshall is assisting with the investigation, with a cause not yet determined.
No injuries are reported.
