( KNZA )-A fact finder will be brought in work to with the representatives of the Prairie Hills Education Association and USD 113 Board of Education in their contract dispute.
The two sides have declared an impasse in contract negotiations for the 2012-2013 school year.
Superintendent Dr. Bill Orth says a federal mediator met with both groups on December 3rd. While specifics of the discussion are confidential, no agreement was reached....( play audio )

A date hasn’t been set when the fact-finder with meet with the two sides. The fact-finder will make a ruling, but it’s non-binding, and neither side is bound by statute to adhere to the conditions.
Orth said an agreement can be reached at any time. Until negotiations can be settled, the teachers will continue to work under the 2011-2012 contract.
