An interim Executive Director of the Second Harvest Food bank has been selected.
The board of directors for the Saint Joseph, Missouri based organization has named Chad Higdon to the role.
According to a press release from Second Harvest, he was chosen based on his years of volunteer service with the food bank.
Higdon will take a leave of absence from his role as Field Representative for Missouri Congressman Sam Graves, and serve as Interim Executive Director until a new full-time CEO is selected.
Higdon steps into the role left vacant by former Executive Director David Davenport who abruptly resigned last month.
Second Harvest provides food sources for partnering agencies in the local area.
