12/06/2012

(KNZA)--Santa is coming to the City of Hiawatha Saturday, accompanied by Mrs. Claus, planning to eat pancakes with the good boys and girls of all ages during a stop at the Hiawatha Lodge.

Part of Operation Red Suit, with Santa having to eat consistently in order to fill out his traditional red outfit, the free will donation breakfast serves as a fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Nemaha and Brown Counties.

Christina Wamsley, Brown County Chair on the executive board of Big Brothers Big Sisters, says activities and prizes will also be included during Santa’s morning visit(Play Audio)

The breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus will run from 9 to 11:00 Saturday morning.

Last Saturday, Santa stopped in Sabetha for breakfast, with nearly 60 families fed, and 950-dollars raised.

According to Angie McGuire, Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Nemaha and Brown Counties, that’s  enough money to match and serve three children during the upcoming year.
