12/04/2012

( KMZA )-- The Nemaha County appraiser's office will be getting several new computers.

County Appraiser Betty Roeder came before Nemaha County Commissioners Monday to request to purchase new computers for her office.

Roeder said that the GIS computer needs to be replaced and she would also like to replace two PC’s in her office used by her staff.

In addition, Roeder said she would like all her staff members to have dual monitors for their computers.

She presented price quotes from Dell for the purchase of three new computers and three extra monitors at a total cost $4,063.

Following discussion, the commission approved the purchase.

Rita Holthaus came before the commission to ask permission to place a bench on courthouse grounds in memory of her husband, Francis “Fritz” Holthaus, who served as Magistrate Judge in Nemaha County for 18 years.

Holthaus showed commissioners where she would like to place the bench near the front walk of the courthouse.

Commissioners said they thought it was a great idea.

Sheriff Rich Vernon informed commissioners they will be advertising soon for an open jailer’s position due to the recent death of Mike Yost of Sabetha who had been employed by the county for 16 years.
