( KNZA )--Fourteen clients served by Brown County Developmental Services will soon be moving into the agency’s new apartment complex at the corner of Delaware and 6th Streets in Hiawatha.
BCDS Director Linda Lock told county commissioners Monday that the clients, who currently live in apartments the agency rents on North 4th Street, will be moving into the new facility the week after Christmas.
The former Safeway store at the location has been converted into eight apartments and an addition constructed to the west that will house six apartments. Work on the project began in early May.

Financial donations to help purchase the needed items can be sent to Brown County Developmental Services at 400 South 12th Street in Hiawatha.

Lock says they hope to have an open house at the new facility possibly in the spring.
