( KNZA )--A Hiawatha man has been arrested on a charge of aggravated criminal sodomy involving a child under the age of 14.
43-year-old Robert Whitfield made his first appearance in Brown County Court Friday on the felony charge.
Whitfield was arrested last Thursday following an investigation by the Brown County Sheriff’s Department.
According to court documents, the alleged victim was born in 2003.
A preliminary hearing in the case is tentatively set for Wednesday.
Whitfield remains in the Brown County Jail on $200,000 bond.
