( KNZA )-- The location for Annual Brown County Veteran’s Day Dinner to be held on Friday, November 9th has been changed.
The dinner has been moved from the National Guard Armory to the Fisher Community Center in Hiawatha.
A free meal will be provided for Brown County Veterans and their spouses, starting at 6 that evening.
There will be update on the local National Guard Battalion activities and plans for the future provided by Battalion Commander, Lt. Colonel Christopher Burr. Wayne Bollig, director of the Kansas Commission on Veteran’s Affairs, will also be in attendance to present the Kansas Vietnam Metal and Certificate to soldiers, sailors and airmen who served during the Vietnam War era.
Veterans and former American Legion Auxiliary members interested in attending should make reservations on or before Monday, November 5th by calling the Hiawatha National Guard Armory at 742-5600 or 742-5630; Cheri Herlinger at 547-5520 or Sam Schuetz ( Sheets ) at 742-3481.
