(KNZA)--All young ghosts and ghouls are invited to a one stop trick or treat shop on Monday evening, as the Brown County Sheriff's office again opens its doors for the haunted Halloween holiday.
Brown County Sheriff John Merchant says he, and his staff, proudly continue the tradition of trick or treating at the law enforcement center, welcoming all children, regardless of where they live, to stop by for treats and treasures(Play Audio)
Merchant says the goodies are made possible through outside funding sources, with no tax dollars spent on the effort(Play Audio)
Merchant encourages parents to bring children to safe trick or treat locations, such as the one at the Sheriff's office.
However, with October 29th and 30th again designated as Trick or Treat nights, as part of the City of Hiawatha's 98th annual Halloween frolic, children will again go door to door in the hunt for candy(Play Audio)
Merchant says the trick or treaters, especially the youngest ones, should be accompanied by adults as they go door to door, and reminds motorists to use extreme caution and to be on the look out for the enthusiastic children(Play Audio)
Meanwhile, the City of Hiawatha, which has the distinction of hosting the nation's oldest Halloween Parade, is again set to make that happen. It will come as part of a full day of Halloween Frolic fun, under the theme of “It's the End of the World” on October 31st.
